- First, create a profile
- This will establish your identity on this social network.
- On Fanspeak home page, click on profile link.
- This will bring you to MyProfile page where you can provide your profile details:
- Sex/birth/email/country code/mobile no/location/first name/last name
- You can even add a line or two describing yourself in a box labeled about me
- Remember to click Save to keep all the changes you’ve made.
- Share fun facts about yourself
- Fill in the blanks on a few interesting questions that randomly show.
- On the Actions box on the upper lefthand space, click on MyProfile (visually represented by the ID icon)
- Click on factoids
- Answer the 5 questions and save
- Finally, define an avatar picture
- This is simply the visual that represents you in the network. It gives face to your profile. People get an idea of how you look or what you’re about. Choose an attractive pose or something equally intriguing and interesting.
- On the Actions box on the upper lefthand space, click on MyProfile (visually represented by the ID icon)
- Click on Select avatar
- Click on Upload a photo and wait till the photo appears under recent content
- You can upload straight from the pc or you can email or create an MMS message attaching the photo you want and sending it to upload@mysandbox.com.ph
- Select the photo you want as an avatar and see it wherever you’re mentioned
You can change this anytime you want
You’re done creating your identity on the web. Next, define the paramaters of your interaction within Fanspeak.- Start with your Privacy Settings
- Choose who sees your information, interactions and uploads: everyone, your friends only or no one.
- On the Actions box on the upper lefthand space, click on MyProfile (visually represented by the ID icon)
- Set/change visibility of panels on your profile
- You can define this for each of the following panels:
Details: your profile
Happenings: a summary of your actions and interactions on the site
Shoutouts: a spontaneous expression
Blogs: a written post about anything you want to put out there
Photos: jpegs and gifs you’ve uploaded
Videos: 3gp videos you’ve uploaded
Groups: People who are interested in the same things or topics
Friends: People you’ve added and identified as friends in MyGroups
My Sites: Mobile sites you’ve subscribed to
- Just remember to save panel settings
- Upload photos/videos and create albums
- On the Actions box on the upper lefthand space, click on Photos (visually represented by the camera icon) or videos (visually represented by the video cam icon)
- Click upload a photo or upload a video
- Browse your pc for files
- Select a file
- Click upload
- You can only upload one photo at a time
- Max size is 2MB
- You can organize your uploaded photos/videos into albums
- Simply click create photo album or create video album
- Enter album name
- Click submit
- Fill up the empty album with photos or videos
- Click add photo or add video
- You can change album name anytime
- Click edit album
- If you want to delete a picture, click on the photo and click remove from album. You can do this anytime.
- Invite Friends
- With a more interesting profile page, you can now start inviting friends.
- Click on My Friends
- Click Invite friends
- Click Email
- Enter five email addresses
- Enter a message
- Click send
An email link to www.mysandbox.com will be sent to them.
If you suspect that you already have friends on sandbox MyGroups, you can also browse the site for friends. Once your friends have registered on sandbox and filled out their profile page on MyGroups, you can search for them.- Just type in your friend’s name and hit search.
- If your friend is part of MyGroups on sandbox, his name and other matches will come up. Once you’ve found them, click on the name
- Click add to friends
- Click yes to verify the friend request you’ve made
- You might have pending friend requests of your own
- Click on [!] on the top navigation pane to find out. If the [!] is red, it means you have new or pending notifications. When it’s black, it means you have no new notifications.
- Notifications tell you of things your friends have done on Fanspeak.
With your network of friends, you ready to do more things on Fanspeak!- Change your status
- Keep things fresh and update your status from time to time.
- Click on the home icon on the top navigation pane
- In the My Status section, enter your current status (what you’re thinking of, doing, engaged in now) and click save.
- Send a shoutout
- Exciting news you want the whole world to know? Make the spontaneous announcement here! Or just say something nice.
- Click on the profile page icon (folder icon on top navigation pane)
- In the Shoutouts section, enter your shoutout (anything you want people to know about) and click shout
- Depending on your privacy settings for this, your shoutouts can be viewed by everyone, your friends only or no one (but what’s the point of shouting out if no one hears you right?)
- Blog
- Begin your blogging practice. Or continue it here. Keep it short and simple. And see people react with comments or replies.
- Click on blog icon.
- Write on blog
- Enter title of blog
- Write blog in body
- You can attach a photo from photos you’ve already uploaded or you can browse your files for others.
- Just look for the photo, select it and click upload.
- Click submit
- You can edit your blog (title, body, photo) anytime and submit again.
- Read blogs
- Click on blog icon
- Your blog posts will appear on top
- Scroll down to the actions section
- Click Browse friends’ blogs to see blog titles and excerpts five at a time
- Click on a title to read the blog in full
- You can read comments other users have posted on that blog
- You can also post, just enter your comment in a box at the bottom and click submit
- To view all the blogs posted by that particular user, click on Back to Blog Index
- To send a private message to a friend
- Click on messages
- Your blog posts will appear on top
- Scroll down to the actions section
- Enter subject
- Enter text in body
- Click send
- To check if anyone has sent you a message, click on messages. Messages you received will appear under your current mail.
Click on the title of the message to see the message and the related replies.- Join a group on Fanspeak
- Click on fanspeak
- Browse fanspeak by category or popularity
- Click on a category
- Click on a group
- Click join a group
- To see the group you just joined, click on the refresh button on your browser
